ELEMENTARY
Students will be enrolled in core courses of Reading, Spelling, Math, Science and Social Studies for their grade level.  Additionally, the use of Art, Physical Education/Health, Character Education and Computer Learning will be incorporated into the structure of the Elementary Program.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
Students will be placed in core courses of English, Math, Social Studies/History, and Science. Additional options will include courses in Computer, Pre-Algebra, Literature, Art, Reading, Character Education and Physical Education/Health.

HIGH SCHOOL
The students have the opportunity to select courses in the curriculum areas based on their educational and career interest.  North New Summit School offers a very diverse set of courses that ensure students are prepared to accomplish their career goals.  The curriculum areas required for grades 9-12 are the following:



NORTH NEW SUMMIT SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

North New Summit School (NNSS), accredited as a Special Purpose School by the Mississippi Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, offers to parents and their children a choice of two high school diploma tracks.

The Standard Diploma has been designed to include 24 Carnegie units as required by North New Summit School and most four year colleges and universities.  Each student receiving a Standard Diploma will have earned a minimum of 24 Carnegie units.

The Career Diploma has been developed specifically for North New Summit students not working toward a standard diploma.  Students choosing to participate in the career course of study must have 24 course credits, and the career/technical requirements. The Career Diploma provides a viable option to students with expectations in both academic and work experiences that will assist students to acquire and maintain the necessary competencies and skills needed to secure and retain competitive employment.
